Soil Requirement: It requires well-drained, light, and nutrient-rich soil.
Water Requirement: Keeping the soil moist at all times is vital. Do not overwater your plants or let the soil dry up.
Harvesting: Pluck out your first harvest once the bottle gourd fruits mature. If you wish to let it grow longer, you can wait for a few days. The plant will yield fruits for 60 days after this.
Growing Tip: It will require staking after it grows 1-2 feet tall.
Prepare your pot with soil. Sow 2-3 seeds in a 3-5 cm deep hole in each pot or in holes located 7-12 cm apart from each other if being grown in a garden. Cover it with a thin layer of soil and water it slowly and carefully, making sure the soil is moist.
As Bottle Gourd is a climber plant, it will need staking. Once it grows up to 1-1.5 feet, it will require support to climb around.
After 60-65 days, you can start picking the fruits out. If you wish to let the fruit grow longer, you can wait for a few more days. The plant will yield fruit up to 60 days after the first picking.
